SunCoast Guardian 450HP TOWING Transmission 6R140 with Converter 17-19 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke

The Guardian series transmissions are upgraded with SunCoast's custom clutch set. Every one of their 6R140's receives a custom 4-5-6 and 3-5-R clutch pack utilizing custom pistons and apply plates to ensure clean, accurate, and consistent shifts. The Ford 6R140 Torqshift transmission is one of the most robust transmissions Ford has yet to build. This unit was designed and manufactured exclusively by the Ford Motor Company. First and foremost, Ford opted to incorporate a robust one-piece bell housing design for the all new 6R140. This single piece design is not only strong but adds a tremendous amount of rigidity to the case reducing torsional flex. Simply put, the 6R140 uses a simple gearset to drive a Ravigneaux gearset. As a result of the in-depth development, the transmission uses only five clutch sets to achieve six forward gears. The 6R140 is further strengthened by the utilization of a powder-metal carrier within the compound Ravigneaux planetary gearset which is a double planetary gearset. The carrier is made up of four pressed components, which are sinter-brazed together to form a rigid, dense structure.

Included for the torque converter in the 6R140 is an exclusive long travel, ultra-high-capacity turbine damper designed to soften the extreme force produced by the new 6.7L Powerstroke.
